Patent Onfalomesenteric Conduct
Abstract
The persistence of permeable omphalosenteric duct is one of the less frequent forms of presentation,
within the pathology, of the embryonic remnants derived from this duct. We present the case of a
30-day-old infant who is diagnosed with permeable omphalomesenteric duct, and resective surgery is
performed, with a good postoperative evolution and with home discharge at 8 days. The embryology
data as well as the pathology, the clinical presentation, the diff erential diagnoses and the therapeutic
options are reviewed.
