Abstract

This article presents the debate between models for considering patient autonomy, specifically applied to Maternal-Fetal-Neonatal Medicine. It outlines the advantages of implementing the ‘Shared Decision-Making’ model, which is widely recommended in the literature. We link this approach to the practical outcomes of its application at the University Maternity Hospital of the Hospital de Clínicas.
