Pasteurella sp. arthritis in a patient with chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Abstract
Most of Pasteurella sp. infections arise due to percutaneous inoculation after dog or cat bites. The spectrum of diseases produced by this germ goes from localized abscess to celulitis, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis, sepsis, respiratory and central nervous system infections. Immunosupresion predisposes the patient to systemic manifestations. We present a clinical case of a immunosuppressed patient with septic arthritis of the elbow after being bitten and scratched by a cat.
