Approach to sexuality in the gravid period-puerperal
Abstract
Conocer el proceso fi siológico del período grávido-puerperal y el de la respuesta sexual por separado no sería sufi cientes para realizar el abordaje integral en sexualidad que debería adoptarse. Este artículo pretende revisar y despertar refl exiones acerca del abordaje integral de las mujeres embarazadas y puérperas, considerándolas seres sexuales incorporando una perspectiva de diversidad sexual.
Debemos conocer en términos generales qué sucede en cada trimestre, no sólo desde el punto de vista
obstétrico, sino también desde una perspectiva erótico sexual que pueda abordar a la mujer amante, no
sólo verla como “madre”. La asistencia en salud sexual -que incluye la esfera reproductiva- debe ser
realizada por profesionales con capacitación y actualización sufi cientes para que las mujeres puedan
vivir y expresar su sexualidad de la forma más libre y segura posible.
