Falciform ligament infarction:
Uncommon cause of abdominal pain
Abstract
Falciform ligament infarction is a type of focal intraperitoneal fat infarction (FFI). It is a rare disease with few cases reported in the literature. The abdominal pain that usually presents is indistinguishable from other etiologies, but it is usually self-limited and does not require surgical resolution. Imaging diagnosis using computed tomography is a fundamental pillar.
We present the case of a 50-year-old patient. An imaging diagnosis of falciform ligament infarction was made, and conservative treatment was chosen.
