Cervical spondylolysis. Case report
Abstract
A case of bilateral spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis involving cervical spine in a 21 year old woman is reported. Emphasis is made on radiological signs that allow the identification of this pathology.
As patients with this associated pathology are more exposed to quadriplegia than patients without listhesis, a correct and early diagnosis is essential. In this case, no signs of mechanical or neurological instability were present, so only conservative treatment was decided. The clinical evolution was very satisfactory. Etiological, imaging and therapeutic aspects considered in the literature are commented
