Lumbar facet septic arthritis. Report of two cases
Abstract
We report two cases with isolated septic arthritis of a lumbar facet after a non articular infection, and sepsis. Being a rarity, it is a condition that goes frequently unnoticed, unless taken into account directly. If it is not treated on time, it can leave serious sequelae. The treatment may vary, according to the time of diagnosis. It might have a good response to antibiotic therapy alone, or it may be necessary to associate surgical drainage.
